The Commack boys bowling team striked down their competition on their way to their first bowling title in Commack history.

The team had a total of 6,503 pins down as a team culminating their undefeated season.
“It was a great experience, but a bit stressful,” said bowling coach Dr. Brian Gasser.
Getting through the stress led them to great success.
“Success is maximizing each athlete’s ability. I try to help our athletes with spare shooting and fundamental skills,” said Dr. Gasser.
The bowlers took their practices and made it into something special, the success at States and the ultimate win in the end.
“It felt like we were unstoppable,” said sophomore Ryan S.
Leadership from the upperclassmen this season helped out the whole team.
“[They showed me] how to stay calm, readjust, [and] reset your mind,” said Ryan S.
The key to their dominant performance was communication.
“[The team] helped each other when we needed and [the team] communicated together so our state session was successful,” said junior Luke J.
After three seasons as the Suffolk County champions, their hard work and determination paid off at the State level.
“[It was an] amazing feeling,” said Luke.
Repeating this next year will be a reachable feat if they continue to follow these fundamentals, communicate effectively, bonding together and remain dedicated to their bowling journeys.
“Overall, our athletes worked very hard this season so I was excited to share the victory with them,” said Dr. Gasser.
