Getting involved in high school comes with great benefits, with events like Battle of the Classes and Hallway Night that bring students of all grades together.
Hallway Night is an event when the walls are decorated to each grade’s theme. Looking at all the hallways demonstrates the hard work students have put in to complete the hallway. When students participate they see all the creative planning they have done.
“[…] Walking through that hallway that you took part in decorating makes it feel like, ‘wow I really did something that was cool,’” said Student Life adviser William Patterson.
Staying late after school, helping out for these events and working together decorating a hallway focuses on involvement in the school and dedication. After school many students get together to discuss ideas for the theme of the hallway and combine their ideas into many displays and decorations.
“[…] School is more than just academics, school is also getting involved. This helps shape and create your high school experience,” said Class of 2029 adviser Margaret Krone.
Time flies fast and so does high school. Participating at events in school is the basis of lifelong connections and opportunities that only come once in a while.
“It’s a once in a lifetime experience where you get to spend time with all the grades,” said freshman Lola T.
Battle of the Classes and Hallway Night are two of the main events that can build friendships, bring the school community together, and encourage students to take advantage of all the opportunities presented. The seniors were victorious in both the Battle of the Classes and Hallway Night.
