Commack High School was host to 33 other Long Island schools to participate in the All-In Leadership Conference on December 3, 2025.
The All-In Leadership Conference is an annual event held at different schools across Long Island.
There were many parts to the conference, including a guest speaker, Gian Paul Gonzalez, student-led breakout rooms, and breakfast and lunch with every school. The goal of the All-In Leadership Conference is to promote leadership and connection between students from different schools, allowing them to share ideas and inspire one another.
“We thought that we would really love the opportunity to have an influence on other schools. […] We wanted to have an impact and bring our ideas to other schools across the county,” said principal Carrie Lipenholtz.
Commack students involved in the conference were specifically chosen because of their leadership qualities. Leading the activities in the breakout rooms was the perfect opportunity for these students to use their leadership skills to inspire and connect with others.
“I liked how the breakout rooms allowed people to actually talk and it wasn’t awkwardly silent,” said senior Logan B.
The activities chosen to be done in the breakout rooms were also specifically designed to maximize interaction between students from Commack and other schools.
“I liked the ‘drawing a leader’ activity because it led to really meaningful conversation and let people connect,” said senior Mayah D.
Hosting the All-In Leadership Conference this year not only had an impact on the students from other schools, but also on Commack’s own students.
“It really allowed some people to come out of their comfort zone. I think that it gave [people] an opportunity to see that they can do things they never knew they could do before, and open their eyes to things that they would be interested in for the future,” said Lipenholtz.
