Attending Sacred Heart University

For as long as I can remember, writing was something that brought me comfort. There was no better way I could express myself than sitting down with a pen and paper. The Courant, for four amazing years, gave me the freedom and purpose to write. The writing skills this club helped me develop were accompanied by the development of new social skills through interviews. Interviewing was not only a learning experience, but an enjoyable process as well. I was able to make connections with students and staff that will last me beyond high school.

I want to offer a piece of advice to the students who continue their journey in Commack High School. It may be something heard everyday and I know I’ve been told this plenty of times, but it’s important to live these high school years to the fullest. Everyone loves to say that these four years go fast and I regret to say I didn’t believe them until now. Four years of growth have flown by and I am now someone with motivation and determination that was shaped by this school as well as The Courant. I’m determined to strive for my goals and make Commack proud as well as to make all of the resources it’s given me worth it.

I can honestly say that I have loved every single teacher who got me here today, and I am thankful for the education they have left me with. I want to give a special thank you to Mr. DelGiudice and Mr. Keltos for their guidance throughout my high school experience. I couldn’t have navigated these past years without their help and I hold tremendous gratitude for their want to better every student’s experience here at Commack High School. Commack is my home and always will be. I hope the students who are blessed to continue to walk these halls flourish into who they want to be and take advantage of all the opportunities they are given. May Commack continue to breed hardworking individuals and assist the student body in making their dreams come true. Goodbye Commack, I hope you don’t forget me, but I can promise, I will never forget you. ◼️
