For months, students have been obsessed with Clash Royale, however, many students have shifted from the mobile game and begun to immerse themselves in Brawl Stars.
Brawl Stars is a fast-paced 3v3 multiplayer and battle royale game for mobile. Players go through a journey of collecting different brawlers with special abilities, gadgets, and star powers. Players can play alone or with friends across a variety of game modes under three minutes.
“I really love that game. When I start playing that game it’s like music to my ears. It’s so cool and interesting and in depth,” said sophomore Anoush C.
Although the game was released in 2018, existing for several years, the game only just began to gain popularity at an extremely rapid rate.
“I actually started playing it because of my friend who introduced me to Brawl Stars and I actually started liking Brawl Stars. Ever since, Brawl Stars became my life,” said freshman Daniel O.
Brawl Stars has a total of 79 brawlers, all with special abilities, unique gadgets and distinctive star powers. There are many ways players can obtain brawlers such as the brawl pass, starr drops and starr road. Players can also upgrade their brawler’s power level to unlock new abilities.
“My favorite brawler is Poco because I love the healing aspects, I like the gadget and I like that you have a lot of solo surviving abilities and you can hit multiple enemies at the same time,” said freshman Seth S.
One important aspect of Brawl Stars is its community, if the community is toxic and unwelcoming it can create a harmful environment which will diminish the gaming experience.
“I enjoy the amazing mechanics and the great players within the community and the skill that is required to play the game,” said sophomore Anoush C.
As Brawl Stars’ popularity increases each day, students should be mindful of how long they spend playing it. Students should consider if the time they spent playing Brawl Stars is healthy and not an addiction.
“You can spend the time playing [Brawl Stars] on anything else, it’s very time consuming, get off your phones, set time limits and don’t play these games,” said freshman Seth S.
At its peak, Clash Royale was equally as popular as Brawl Stars. However, in the past month people moved on from Clash Royale and began exploring other games made by Supercell such as Brawl Stars.
“I play Clash Royale and I like the strategic element of [the game] and it’s a very intriguing game, but overall the game is very pay to win,” said freshman Seth S.◼️
