Spider-Man: No Way Home
February 10, 2022
On December 17th, Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home was released in movie theaters across the country. Starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Jacob Batalon, this movie showcases how Peter Parker is no longer able to separate his normal life as a high school student from his life as a superhero, which forces him to discover what being Spider-Man genuinely means.
The movie’s trailer left many people creating their own suspicions of what could happen during the movie. For example, multiple universes can be traveled through, now that the multiverse has been introduced.
“I thought the trailer was very interesting and left a lot of parts to be solved in the movie,” said sophomore Laieny K.
The first five Spider-Man films individually starred Tobey Maguire and then Andrew Garfield, both as Spider-Man. Ever since Spider-Man: Homecoming was released in 2017, with Tom Holland, it has been debated which actor performed the Spider-Man and Peter Parker character best.
“My favorite Spider-Man is probably Tom Holland because I think that it is a great part for him and I think he fits the role way better than any of the other ones. He’s a lot younger than the other actors and it fits him perfectly and makes the story line a lot more believable,” said sophomore Brina S.
Marvel fans were eagerly waiting for the film to come out and pre-order ticket sales have skyrocketed. On Cyber Monday, the tickets went on sale, causing websites like Fandango, AMC, Cinemark, and other ticket selling sites to crash due to the extremely high volume of tickets being purchased at the same time.
“I was not able to get tickets. The website crashed as I was trying to get them,” said Lainey K.
Spider-Man: No Way Home ticket sales set a pandemic record for the most amount of tickets sold since the start of Covid-19. As of right now, the movie has already grossed $1.53 billion internationally, and this number continues to grow everyday.🔳
