Adolescents all over the world are desiring to watch and listen to Harry Styles, for he is making his own path in both the music and fashion industry since the break up of his former boyband, One Direction in 2015. 

“I was always a fan as a kid of One Direction. When they split into their solo careers, I continued to like each one of their music individually. But, Harry always stood out to me with his type of pop music. For his attitude, he has always been kind and accepting to everyone, and his fashion is so incredibly unique. Everything that he does is so inspiring,” said sophomore Allison S.

 Many people believe that Harry creates appealing music in his solo career. Because of the pandemic, people have been feeling depressed due to a lack of contact and communication between others. Still, Harry looks towards the bright side of situations. He shows everyone they can still be happy just being themselves, which is one huge reason why Harry Styles is becoming so popular. 

“I’ve met people where his music has helped them through the hardest points in their lives,” said sophomore Graceann C.

Many feel that people naturally gravitate towards Harry Styles because of his empathy and joy. His fashion sense also catches people’s eye. 

Harry Styles was the first man on the cover of Vogue to wear a dress. He was able to express himself in a way that was unexpected to many. His style demonstrates his defiance to what it means to be stereotypically masculine. 

“[His Vogue cover] painted a picture of something so different from what society is used to, and I think that is a huge thing. It impacts our generation majorly,” said Graceann C. 

“Many people have that stereotype that men can’t wear dresses, skirts, nail polish, or makeup. Harry contradicts that by showing people that he can wear whatever he wants to wear and do what he wants to do yet still be a man,” said Allison S. 

Harry Styles’ “Treat People With Kindness” his kind nature. Most fans fell in love with his music at first, but they loved him for his kindness and compassion, including his charitable work. This includes donating his hair to Ukraine Little Princess Trust that makes wigs for children who have cancer. 

Being a fan of Harry Styles has impacted many young girls’ friendships. 

“I have made a lot of friends through being a Harry fan and meeting other people who are Harry fans. That makes me realize how many people there are that have things in common with me. It reminds me that there are a lot of people who are very accepting,” said Allison S.

Of course, his music is what the majority of the world knows him for. Queen, Shania Twain, and Fleetwood Mac are amongst his inspirations when writing his songs.

“It’s really nice to see that even he gets inspiration from past artists. I don’t know if he will still be creating music in the future, but I will [definitely] look back [in the future] and see that he was one of the biggest [pieces] of my adolescent life that had helped me be who I am. […] That is the biggest influence that someone can have for a generation,” said Graceann C. 🔳
